Math in the Middle – Working with Middle School Students

Varying ability levels within the same math class present instructional challenges - how to bring all students to true conceptual understanding and math success. Some concepts are easily explained, while others may require multiple explanations and examples. Online simulations provide the teacher with technology to introduce, present, explain, and review challenging concepts using highly visual and interactive scenarios. Simulations technology also allows students to take situations and problems encountered in class, change variables, and explore math concepts with the opportunity to practice without stress!

Did you know this is the first time in history that 5 unique generations are in the workplace simultaneously? This new dynamic requires a different approach. Teachers benefit from a number of the same strategies that can be implemented in the classroom, such as having meeting topics ahead of time so they can work during the actual meeting time. In addition to the flipped strategy, participants will explore more effective ways to organize meeting time to maximize professional development opportunities.

I will show you how easy it is to use EdPuzzle to keep your students engaged in a video lesson and also gauge their understanding.
